The Drama

Short Review

Review: I went into the movie completely blind, never having seen a trailer beforehand. The only thing I knew was that it would be a relationship drama, which I assumed based solely on the name of the film, which I was correct about. The movie is about a couple about to get married in a week or two, but she ends up spilling a secret about her past that is incredibly controversial, and the movie focuses on how knowing the secret of someone you love and how it could impact your relationship and the relationship you have with your friends. Due to this, your enjoyment of the movie is solely based on how engaged you find yourself with this “drama,” along with how much you enjoy the chaos that ensues. As for me, I found the performances of Robert Pattinson and Zendaya (the couple) to be phenomenal, but I found myself not getting as engaged in the drama as I would have liked to. I found the characters’ decisions (after the secret getting out) to be a bit too unrealistic, and I found some points to be extremely repetitive, as you are just hearing the story over and over again. That being said, I can see why people really enjoy this movie. It was good, but it didn’t click with me.
